With schools starting I know a lot of moms still have little busy bees at home. Here is a fun craft to keep them busy. Ink Blot Monsters are super easy to make and kids love seeing the monsters they created.
INK BLOT MONSTERS
What you will need
- A few sheets of thick white paper
- Few colours of paint
- Some googly eyes
Using half a sheet of paper, first fold the paper in half, making a crease down th middle. Unfold the paper again and drizzle some paint along the crease. A little goes a long way. Now refold the paper and use your fingers to spread the paint between the layers, starting at the crease and moving towards the edges. This is where you can experiment a little. Try using your fingertips rather than your flat hand and drag the paint into different directions. Make zig zags, waves or swirls. Use multiple colours on one sheet.
Open your paper to see what kind of monster your have created. This is a great time to ask you little ones what kind of features they see. Do they see hands, eyes, nose etc. Great for learning where is your eyes, nose etc . Place the googly eyes on. Make a few and keep them. They make awesome cards for grannies and family members.
